Alberta’s First Craft Distillery

Eau Claire Distillery, an award-winning vodka, gin and whisky distiller in Turner Valley, Alberta had an established brand when they approached us to help them grow and expand their design, packaging and website, and create an e-commerce platform. Our challenge was to take what has already been designed and go further, taking the brand to the next level.

Handcrafted Artisanal Spirits
From Farm to Glass

Just like their spirits, we’ve hand-crafted each design with painstaking detail to embody the brand and it’s home-grown prairie roots. Like the bootleggers of old, we’ve smuggled their ideas into our creative vision, forging a new pathway to reach a wider market.

Where Social Animals Roam

The characters backing Eau Claire match the history with long-standing relationships with pioneers and settlers. The setting is rugged and rural, surrounded by generations-old family farms where owners produce some of the finest grain in the world. These themes are the inspiration for the Eau Claire brand.

Responsive Web Design & E-Commerce

Our aim was to create a responsive website that showcases the sprit offerings,
invites guests to enjoy a tour of the distillery (We’ve been many times – you have to go!), purchase spirits online using a WooCommerce platform, and allows users to sign up for exclusive products and updates, all while maintaining the old-world integrity of the brand.

Old World Inspiration

Ancient techniques and modern creativity unite here to produce unique and premium distilled products. The same is true for the illustrative wood-cut style we used to create custom illustrations for Eau Claire’s bottles and packaging.

Quintessential Alberta

Eau Claire takes great pride in being Alberta’s first craft distiller. We are equally as proud to be an Alberta-based company, and this pride shines through in every aspect of the design, illustration and elements that encompass Eau Claire’s branding.

Distillers Field Guide

When guests arrive at the distillery, they are invited to tour the facility and enjoy a tasting. We proposed a print piece to accompany their tour that would tell the guests about the spirits, the distilling process and the ingredients within.

Guest Experience

The concept behind the Distiller’s Field Guide was to create the look of farmers pocket ledger, botanist’s notes and a distiller’s workbook all in one. We used antiqued illustration styles, weathered photos and handwritten notes to create a take-home print piece for the guests that is both informative and fun.
